David Lau's poetry and essays have appeared widely (in Boston Review, The American Reader, Armed Cell, New Orleans Review, Los Angeles Review of Books, and New Left Review). His first book of poetry, Virgil and the Mountain Cat, was described by the Believer as "simultaneously creative and destructive … grounded in—or rather, trapped by—the present." Commune Editions will publish his second book this August; Still Dirty finds its bearings in the political struggles after the economic crisis. In 2009, he was chosen as a Poetry Society of America New American Poet. Lau is also the author of the chapbook Bad Opposites (speCt!, 2012). With Cal Bedient, he edits the journal Lana Turner. A graduate of UCLA and the Iowa Writers' Workshop, he is a lecturer at UC Santa Cruz, where he first began teaching in 2005. He has also taught poetry at UC Berkeley and in the MFA program at Saint Mary's College. 

Wendy Trevino was born & raised in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas. She now lives and works in San Francisco. Her chapbook 128-131 was published by Perfect Lovers Press in 2013. Her chapbook BRAZILIAN IS NOT A RACE was just recently published by Commune Editions, and Krupskaya Books will publish her chapbook Cruel Work later in 2016. Her poems have appeared in various print and online journals, including Abraham Lincoln, Armed Cell, the Capilano Review, LIES, Macaroni Necklace, Mondo Bummer, ELDERLY and Open House.

Cheena Marie Lo is the author of the full length title A Series of Un/Natural/Disasters (Commune Editions, 2016). They currently coordinate a youth art program at California College of the Arts, and co-edit the literary journal, HOLD.

Jasper Bernes is author of two books of poetry, Starsdown (2007) and We Are Nothing and So Can You (2015). He has recently completed a scholarly book, The Work of Art in the Age of Deindustrialization (Stanford University Press, forthcoming), about the role poetry plays in the postindustrial restructuring of labor. Poems, essays, and other writings can be found in Modern Language Quarterly, Radical Philosophy, Endnotes, Lana Turner, The American Reader, Critical Inquiry and elsewhere. Together with Juliana Spahr and Joshua Clover, he edits Commune Editions. He lives in Berkeley with his family.

Gillian Olivia Blythe Hamel’s work has appeared in VOLT, jubilat, The Volta, and The Offending Adam, and was recently featured in the Aesthetic Blitz exhibition from the Asian American Women Artists Association. Her first book, occident, is forthcoming from Called Back Books in 2017. She is managing editor at Omnidawn Publishing and editor of OmniVerse. Gillian also co-publishes speCt!, a chapbook series and book arts imprint, with Peter Burghardt and Robert Andrew Perez. She lives in Oakland, California.

Garrett Caples is the author of the forthcoming Power Ballads (Wave, 2016), as well as earlier poetry collections The Garrett Caples Reader (Angle, 1999) and Complications (Meritage, 2007).  He wrote the essay book Retrievals (Wave, 2014), and co-edited Incidents of Travel in Poetry: New and Selected Poems by Frank Lima (City Lights, 2016) and Collected Poems of Philip Lamantia (California, 2013).  He curates the Spotlight Poetry Series for City Lights.

Brian Ang's current poetic project is The Totality Cantos, for Atelos. He edits ARMED CELL in Oakland.

Rusty Morrison's Beyond the Chainlink (Ahsahta) is just published (January 2014). After Urgency won Tupelo’s Dorset Prize, the true keeps calm biding its story won the Academy of American Poet’s James Laughlin Award, Ahsahta’s Sawtooth Prize, the N. CA Book Award, the DiCastagnola Award from PSA. Her first book, Whethering, won the Colorado Prize for Poetry. Her poems are anthologized in the Norton Postmodern American Poetry 2nd Edition, The Arcadia Project: Postmodern Pastoral, Beauty is a Verb, and elsewhere. She is co-publisher of Omnidawn.

Andrew Joron is the author of Trance Archive: New and Selected Poems (City Lights Books, 2011).

Juliana Spahr:  In addition to Commune Editions, Juliana Spahr edits the book series Chain Links with Jena Osman and the collectively funded Subpress with nineteen other people. With David Buuck she wrote Army of Lovers; she has done other recent collaborative work with Stephanie Young, Joan Retallack, Claudia Rankine, Joshua Clover, and Chris Chen.

Brenda Hillman teaches at Saint Mary's College where she is Olivia C. Filippi Professor of Poetry; her most recent collection is Seasonal Works with Letters on Fire.

Geoffrey G. O'Brien is the author of 4 books of poetry, most recently People on Sunday.

Alli Warren's first book is Here Come the Warm Jets (City Lights, 2013). New work can be found in The Emerald Tablet, Elderly, and Compost. 

Michael Palmer has lived in San Francisco since 1969. His most recent collections are Active Boundaries (Selected Essays and Talks) (New Directions, 2008), Madman With Broom (selected poems, with Chinese translations by Yunte Huang, Oxford University Press, 2011) and Thread (New Directions 2011). A new collaboration with the Margaret Jenkins Dance Company, Times Bones, will have its San Francisco premiere in April 2014. He has taught at various universities in the United States, Europe and Asia and published translations from a variety of languages, in particular French, Russian and Brazilian Portuguese.

Lauren Levin is from New Orleans and lives in Oakland. She wrote Working (Portable Press at Yo-Yo Labs), Song (The Physiocrats), Keenan (Lame House Press) and Not Time (Boxwood Editions). She co-edits the Poetic Labor Project and Mrs. Maybe.

Joshua Clover has appeared in every issue of Lana Turner. He has collaborated on poetry, critical writing, and conferences with Chris Nealon, Chris Chen, Aaron Benanav, Annie McClanahan, Louis Schwartz, Jasper Bernes, and Juliana Spahr; with the lattermost two, he edits Commune Editions.
