C. S. Giscombe’s poetry books are Prairie Style, Giscome Road, Here, etc.; his book of linked essays (concerning Canada, race, and family) is Into and Out of Dislocation. His recognitions include the 2010 Stephen Henderson Award, an American Book Award (for Prairie Style) and the Carl Sandburg Prize (for Giscome Road). Ohio Railroads (a poem in essay form) was published in 2014 and Border Towns (essays on poetry, color, nature, television, etc.) appeared in September 2016. He teaches at the University of California, Berkeley. He is a long-distance cyclist.
Garrett Caples is the author of three full-length poetry collections, including the brand-new Power Ballads (Wave Books, 2016). He has also written a book of essays, Retrievals (Wave, 2014), and a pamphlet, Quintessence of the Minor: Symbolist Poetry in English (Wave, 2010). He co-edited Incidents of Travel in Poetry: New and Selected Poems by Frank Lima (City Lights, 2016), Particulars of Place by Richard O. Moore (Omnidawn, 2015), and Collected Poems of Philip Lamantia (California, 2013). A freelance writer, he is also an editor at City Lights, where he curates the Spotlight poetry series. He lives in San Francisco.
Brian Reinbolt was born in Alabama and spent the first 17 years of his life dreaming of his escape. He first attempted this by studying music (piano performance) in Florida and then finally broke free to California where he got an MFA in electronic music at Mills College. He then used newly discovered talents to secure a day job as a computer geek. In the 80s and 90s he produced three CDs of his music (now residing at http://artifact-reinbolt.bandcamp.com/) and also, more importantly, managed to find true love. At the turn of the Millennium, he started working on various multimedia projects involving electronic circuitry. In an effort to make the projects solidly presentable he taught himself woodworking and is currently creating electronic timekeeping devices.
