November 5th with Elizabeth Hatmaker and Dorothea Lasky

Elizabeth Hatmaker is the author of
Girl in Two Pieces (BlazeVOX 2010), a collection about the 1947 “Black Dahlia” murder. Her work is also featured in Life As We Show It: Writing on Film. (City Lights 2009), ACM, Bird Dog, Epoch, Mississippi Review, MiPOesias, Mandorla, L’Bourgeoizine, and Mirage/Periodical. She teaches creative writing, cultural studies, film, and urban education at Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois.




Chelsea Walton is an animator and editor located in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her animation experience includes creating motion graphics for Independent Television Service, visual effects for True Margrit music videos,animating logos, and creating and animating the trailer for the Green Screen Film Festival (2005). In 2010, she completed animation for Laura Lukitsch's The Beard Club: A Documentary.border="0" />


Dorothea Lasky was born in St. Louis, MO in 1978. She is the author of Black Life and AWE, both out from Wave Books. She is also the author of several chapbooks, including Poetry is Not a Project (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2010). A graduate of the MFA program for Poets and Writers at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, she also has been educated at Washington University, Harvard University, and the University of Pennsylvania. She currently lives in New York City.
